FAQs

Where are you located?

I am located near Providence, RI. Aerial lessons are held through The Dancing Loon in Central Falls. Ground classes are held through Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Center in Lincoln, RI.

If you are near Providence, it is possible I could travel to you. Feel free to email!

Who do you work with?

Cancer Exercise
I am a certified Cancer Exercise Specialist, and use a combination of modalities, including clinical somatics and functional fitness, to help clients gain mobility, strength and balance through their treatment plan, after any surgeries and beyond. I specialize in breast cancer exercise, working through issues such as axillary cording and lymphedema. As always, clients must have a doctor’s clearance to exercise.

Circus Training
A circus coach since 2010, I trained with New England Center for Circus Arts and attended their teacher training. I balance technique with creativity, finding the drills to help individuals achieve their technical goals and provide prompts to expand expression in the air. I start exactly where you are: all levels are welcome!

Personal Training
If you’re brand-new to fitness, never set foot in a gym, or find the whole situation overwhelming, we will start exactly where you are!

If you’re old-hat, love to work out but returning from an injury, we will also start exactly where you are!

No matter where you’re starting, we will start with a zoom call conversation to discuss your history with fitness and what your goals are.

I’m new to working out. What do I need to bring or wear?

First of all: welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. Bring yourself! Wear comfortable clothing you can move in (jeans are limiting, but anything stretchy that you like wearing works great).

For aerial classes, the apparatus can cause abrasions so keep armpits, torso and backs of knees covered. To protect yourself and the apparatus, keep rings at home and avoid snaps and zippers.

For ground and personal training sessions, wear what feels good on your body!

I just had cancer surgery. Can you help me get back into shape?

Congratulations on getting this far!

You will need a doctor’s clearance for you to exercise as well as any instruction you may have such as compression garments to wear during a session.

As an aside, there is no “back in shape,” we will go forward with the body and soul you have, taking all of it with you. Bodies are different after surgery, and we will take slow and careful steps!
